Although I have not been blogging as I ought, I have been working on adding to the image gallery photos from my most recent trip to China. Here is a taste of what’s new:
It had to happen sooner or later. I had to return to Ohio from my fantastic vacation in China. Now that I am back, I’m suffering from some slight post-vacation blues. Not only am I missing my lovely girlfriend, but I’m finding it difficult to concentrate on work when my mind constantly wanders back to wonderful memories of Changsha, Yangshuo and places in between. I can’t wait to get back there.
I’m in the process of selecting the best pictures from my trip and uploading them to the image gallery. Here are a few examples:
I have not posted anything deeply personal on my blog for a very very long time. Until recently, I’ve not had much reason to post such things. I’ve stuck with writing what I know: the internet, boredom, and social networks. This post will briefly interrupt the flow of geekiness you have come to expect from Think Obvious.
What’s got me thinking different? Did I buy a Mac Powerbook or something? Maybe an iPad? Nope and HELLZ NO (respectively)! But something has me thinking quite differently about the future; has me thinking of a future filled with more than just technology and software. Something nearly as global as global warming has melted a polar bear right down into a puddle. ”Maybe” and “because” fill voids and silence with knowns and confident certainty. Every song becomes part of the soundtrack of an unscripted movie whose ending remains shrouded in challenging darkness. Time runs like water through spread fingers, and memories ooze and ripple with sweet smiles and laughter.
When you hear those three little words, the world becomes a much smaller, happier place. At the same time, 11,000 miles can feel as vast as the feelings between a polar bear and his cream puff.
